Packing for Eastern Europe!

Today is packing day. Believe it or not, and more to my surprise than anyone else's, I have purchased all the mini-sized toiletries needed, arranged for house sitting, and finished my projects. We've been planning the visit back to my husband's homeland and I'm excited to get back. I can't wait to see my sister-in-law, my husband's family, and friends!

Paradise

Doesn't this look like paradise? This was taken in Palolem Beach in Goa, India in 1989. I love the paintings on the boat. Oh, and the palm trees, too.

Words to Live By

Tree Stump Furniture

This is my next project. After completing my wood pallet table (see my post on 14 June here) I'm excited to move on to the next project. The husband has found the stumps on the side of the road and my friends at Cutting Edge Tree Care have cut them level. Thank you, Charlie!

Pops of Color

This is a great use of color for strong impact. Although, I don't think I would like to live with it for long unless it was tempered with some deep tones such as the last few. Then I love it!

I'm in Love with Wood Pallets

Here's another table made from a lowly wood pallet. Lovely. But, I also love the monochromatic gray and the simple textural elements.

Just the bare, worn wood is beautiful. But, this particular grouping doesn't stay this way; go here to see it's transformation. All is nice ~ but, what do you prefer???

Eating in the Kitchen

These are far from inexpensive kitchens ~ but, I love the old fashioned mindset that the place to eat is actually in the kitchen.

Summer Interiors

I had several images that evoke "Summer Time!" in my files. Yet, I completely forgot to note where I found them and who created these lazy, hazy afternoon spaces ~ sorry! All have large expanses of windows inviting the outdoors in. Many are located on a coast. Enjoy.
